We are writers, broadcasters & performing artists, working in areas such as music, film & TV. We believe copyright should serve artists & that citizens should not have their internet cut off or restricted, without a trial, for copyright infringement.
We, the undersigned artists and creative professionals, petition Business Secretary Lord Mandelson to defend the public's democratic, social and economic rights to internet connection, by rejecting any planned legislation which would - without due process - disconnect members of the public from the internet for suspected copyright infringement.

ORG 3 Strikes action
Your MP will have a chance to vote on if the government will have the power to deny internet access to members of the public accused of web piracy. Now's your chance to tell them that a vote in favour of such a law would be a violation of our rights to due process and freedom of expression, and is not in the interests of most of us working in the creative industries.
Remember to be clear, polite and personal, as the letter is more likely to have an impact on your MP if you can address them in this way.
