NCVO is campaigning against the Government's decision to make charities and other not for profits pay for a license when they play recorded music in their own premises.
Writing a letter to your MP is a great way to get your message across.
Tell your MP how concerned you are about the impact the new charges will have on charities, charity shops and other not for profit organisations;
Ask them to sign EDM 318 to express their support for this issue;
And ask them to pass your concerns onto Lord Mandelson, the Minister responsible for music licenses.
You can write your own letter or use our suggested text (scroll down for this).
By taking a relatively small amount of time to write to your MP you can make a huge difference to this campaign!

EDM NO 318 - CHARITIES AND RECORDED MUSIC LICENCES
Dear [Insert your MP's Name] MP,
I was shocked to hear of plans to charge charities to play music.
Charities and other not-for profit organisations often support the most vulnerable people in our society and make a positive difference to people's lives.
At a time when many charites are being asked to deliver more with less, this decision represents an unacceptable financial burden on the voluntary and community sector.
As my elected representative, I urge you to sign EDM 318 and to raise this issue with Lord Mandelson, the Minister responsible.
Yours sincerely
